Reasons to Visit the Joshua Tree National Park

Image of Joshua Tree National ParkOne of the most beautiful places you can visit is the Joshua Tree National Park, which is just a scenic drive away from our RV resort.  Whether you’re a photographer, hiker, stargazer, or just want to enjoy nature, Joshua Tree has something truly special to offer and is one of many attractions near our RV park.

A Surreal Landscape You’ll Never Forget

Joshua Tree has truly distinct features. For example, from the moment you enter, you’re greeted with strange, twisting trees that have real character. These are the famous Joshua trees, found almost nowhere else on Earth. Towering boulders stack impossibly on top of each other, creating natural playgrounds for climbers and photographers alike.

With over eight hiking trails to choose from, there’s no shortage of ways to experience the terrain. One of the most popular trails, Hidden Valley, offers a moderate one-mile loop surrounded by giant rock walls and desert life. For a more challenging trek, head up to Ryan Mountain, as the views from the summit are worth the trip up.

Many visitors love to go for sunrises and sunsets, since they are incredibly beautiful across the desert.

Beautiful Skies for Stargazing

Joshua Tree is a designated International Dark Sky Park, which means the opportunities to see beautiful stars here is elite. On a clear night, you can see so many cool things, even without a telescope. If you’re lucky, you might catch a meteor shower or a moonrise so vivid it feels like you’re on another planet.

Many visitors plan their trip around the moon cycle just to experience the darkest nights. Whether you’re lying back on a blanket or using binoculars, this is the kind of night sky that stirs your imagination and stays with you long after you’ve returned to your RV site.

Other Tourist Attractions at the Joshua Tree National Park

Local galleries, desert installations, and fun roadside attractions provide further charm. Stop by the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, where scrap materials become powerful sculptures, or browse handcrafted treasures at the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers Market.

If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the Cholla Cactus Garden during golden hour. These spiky plants make for great photo opportunities.
